Reflection: New york was such an inspiration and I hope to visit there again. Around every corner was something to be excited about. I love things that inspire me to be myself and to express myself inside and out. New York was that place.
Personal Narrative
“Let’s take a vacation” New York was always somewhere that had so much life and joy. On winter break of 08’, my dreams came true. My cousins toke me to this lovely place to experience a world that I wished to see. The lights, from each building, gleamed so powerfully. Every corner I turned was something new that might intrigue me. New York was so much more than expected and I didn’t want to leave. I had never seen a place with so much inspiration. My smile was wide and my mind was bursting with creativity. I stopped at almost every building just to embrace the emphatic energy. My cousins allowed me to go anywhere, in New York, that my mind desired. The very first place I visited was where the twin towers used to stand. Every nerve in my body was tingling with sadness. I tried to remember that dreadful day that changed my life completely. I had known someone that was in that building when the plane hit. At that moment, I was reminded that at any moment your life can change within seconds. Lee, my cousin, held my hand as I tried to hold back my tears. We left that spot with a new perspective and traveled on to another magnificent oasis. New York was bursting with creative juices and I was thirsty for more. Each street we crossed or roadway we passed there was someone new. One corner would be a fashionista and the next would be the naked cowboy. There was always something for everyone to do. I appreciated the excitement that New York had to offer. I had found a place that I truly loved from the inside out. One of my favorite things I saw was when I got to see the difference between New York City and Brooklyn. Brooklyn really opened my eyes a bit. When I realized the struggle of people in Brooklyn verses the people in New York City, my heart was broken. Some residents of Brooklyn were violent to others, which made my stay there more and more eerie. The one thing that I realized, in Brooklyn, was that many people that lived there were appreciative of where they came from. New York brought me hope and excitement. I wished to never leave. My cousins were gleaming with joy because I had seemed so happy. This place gave me inspiration that I am forever thankful for.
